Challenge Description:
The IEEE TUC SB AI Spotlight 2025 is a dynamic event dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) across four impactful domains. Organized by the IEEE Student Branch TU-Chemnitz, this event offers a platform for students to share their AI-driven innovations, engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote excellence in emerging technologies.
Focus Areas:
- Autonomous Systems – Innovations in self-driving technologies, robotics, and intelligent control systems.
- Vision-Based Systems – Applications involving computer vision, image recognition, and visual perception in machines.
- Cloud Computation – Scalable AI solutions using cloud-based infrastructure, edge computing, and distributed systems.
- Data Analysis – Intelligent data-driven decision-making, big data analytics, and predictive modeling.

How to Participate:
- The competition is open to students and recent graduates (up to 1 year after graduation).
- Participation is team-based or individual – participants must register in advance to secure their spot.
- All registered participants are required to attend the competition
onsite at TU Chemnitz campus
. - The problem statement will be revealed on the day of the event, and participants will have a set time to develop and present their solution.
- A jury of experts from academia and industry will evaluate all solutions based on innovation, feasibility, and relevance to the challenge.

Judging criteria:
The evaluation will be based on the following criteria :
- Conceptualization and Uniqueness – How innovative and unique is your solution concept
- Foundation of Research – Statement of your concept foundation based on scientifical research.
- Implementation and Accuracy
– How accurate is your implemented work? - Efficiency and Global Impact
– How efficient and resourceful is your work. - Presentation and Promotion – Present and demonstrate your product and promote it is such a way that makes it better than the others.
